- Strategic professional level- Essential papers SBR, SBL & Optional papers AFM, APM, ATX, AAA ( any two) paper based exams in March, June, September and December
- STEP 1– GAIN RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: To achieve the PER the affiliates need to gain work experience in a relevant role – this is a role where you spend time on accounting or finance task
- STEP 2 -FIND A SUPERVISOR: The experience need to be supervised to count as PER. Find a practical experience supervisor to supervise and sign off the performance objectives and the time completed in the selected role
- STEP 3– START RECORDING: Need to record details of employer’s name and address and the role – including job title and start date
- STEP 4– TARGET PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES: Choose which performance objectives to work on. Once decided which objectives to target can start recording the progress in MyExperience. To complete each performance objective needs to write a statement and confirm that you’ve achieved a list of tasks called Elements and submit your performance objective to your supervisor for sign-off.

Becoming an ACCA-qualified accountant member does not just involve passing the exams and the Ethics and Professional Skills Module, the affiliates also need to complete the Practical Experience Requirement (PER) and they can gain their practical experience before, during or after they complete the exams.
To become an ACCA member, one must demonstrate relevant skills and experience within a real work environment. This is what the practical experience requirement (PER) is all about. Need to complete 36 months supervised experience in a relevant role(s) and demonstrate that the affiliates have gained a range of skills by achieving nine performance objectives (five Essentials and four Technical). You’ll use the online MyExperience tool, which is accessed though myACCA, to record your PER and have your experience signed off by a practical experience supervisor
